Moonlight Snowshoeing in Lake Tahoe Northstar
We are oh-so excited about Northstar Lake Tahoe's winter activities this season. Amidst candle making, gourmet cooking classes, movies, live music, pottery painting, tubing, ice skating, the ever-popular bungy trampoline and ropes challenge and obvi skiing and/or snowboarding (yeah, that probably doesn't even need to be mentioned) and more, perhaps what has caught our attention the most, is the twilight, moonlight and star gazing snowshoe tours. Yes, you read that correctly. Now, no need to be getting all scared just yet, these tours are guided and concluded with live acoustic music or poetry, smores and hot chocolate/cider for you and the rest of your tour group to enjoy. And the guides are equipped to fight off any nighttime werewolves, so that you can relax or get your workout on in peace, depending on the pace you which to take.
These magical and adventurous snowshoe tour opportunities are possible by way of the Cross Country, Telemark + Snowshoe Center, which is located at mid-mountain, near the Ritz Carlton Hotel at Lake Tahoe and Ritz Carlton Residence Club at Lake Tahoe, which are also at mid-mountain. The Snowshoe Center offers a warm, relaxed atmosphere including our comfortable indoor seating and fireplace, a patio complete with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit, and our friendly, helpful staff here to make your day. Most importantly, however, is their remarkable trail system which includes terrain for all ability levels, from true beginners to advanced adventurers, and offers access to wilderness warming huts, stocked daily with hot chocolate and hot tea and cider, picnic tables, and great vistas of the Martis Valley and Lake Tahoe.
