Summer is just around the corner and Vail has got you covered! Colorado has a saying that “People come for the winter but stay for the summer”. With the winter sports behind us, Vail has the perfect range of summer activities for your entire family to enjoy. Zipline tours, rafting, biking, and hiking are a few of Vail’s most popular summer activities just waiting for you to enjoy!

If thrill-seeking is your thing, then you are in luck. Vail Epic Discovery has 3 zipline options that will excite the most daring person. The Game Creek Zipline tour offers 2 miles of ziplining over the forest habitat. Over the course of 3 hours, you will be able to try 7 different ziplines at speeds up to 60km per hour. If competition is more your speed then opt for the Golden Eagle Zipline. Participants can race each other to the bottom as 4 participate are let go simentalnously. There is also a dedicated zipline for those young adventurers (3 yrs+) to partake in, Little Eagle Zipline.

Drawn to the water by nature? Vail has the perfect activity for you too! Rafting and kayaking are available in the Whitewater Park as well as on the Eagle, Colorado, and Arkansas rivers. Depending on your experience level each location offers different trips ranging from Class I to Class V. Class I is for those seeking an easy ride. This is perfect for families and requires minimal skill. While Class V is reserved for experts only as it includes large waves, rocks and large drops. Vail has a number of knowledgeable rafting companies that can assist in determining your skill level and arranging the perfect rafting trip for you! For a list of Vail rafting companies click here

There is also fun for those who air on the side of caution such as biking or hiking along Vail's scenic trails. Bikes and helmets can be rented at multiple locations throughout Vail Village and Lionshead. Once you are well equipped, head over to either Gondola One in Vail Village or Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead and purchase the bike haul ticket to catch a ride to the top of the mountain. From here, take your time exploring different paths as you bike down to the bottom of the mountain. If you opted for the hike instead make sure to grab a Vail Summer Trail map and purchase the scenic gondola ticket. Once at the top of the mountain you will have hours of trail options.
