17th Annual Beaver Creek Rodeo
The Rodeo is back in town and summer in Beaver Creek is the perfect time for this entertaining western-themed event! Children and adults alike can enjoy vendors, exhibits, music and family-friendly activities.
This summer event will begin at the Beaver Creek Village Plaza with shuttles down to the Rodeo. The event begins on June 21st until August 9th and will take place every Thursday at 2:30 pm.
There will be food and drinks available for purchase throughout the event grounds. Expect to indulge in traditional fair food from hot dogs to cotton candy! Seating can be found on the picnic benches nearby allowing you to soak in the warm Beaver Creek summer air.
There is a range of audience participation activities available to take part in. And the best news yet, even the youngsters can indulge (such as face painting and mutton bustin)!
If you don't mind getting dirty we have listed the audience participation activities below. Please note that young adults will need guardian consent to participate.
Calf Scramble:
Participants ages 5 -12 will chase a group of calves in an arena trying to pull a ribbon from their tails. The first 5 participants that prove to be successful will win a prize!
Mutton Bustin:
Participants 3 years and old have an opportunity to show off their skills by holding on to a sheep. Whoever holds on the longest wins the prize.
Burro Racing:
Participants 18 or older test their abilities by getting their burro from on end of the arena and back in teams of 3.
BULLoon Stampede:
Participants ages 13-17 will be fitted with a helmet and horns and set loose in a balloon obstacle course. Whoever pops the most balloons wins!
If spectating is more your speed there will be many Rodeo events throughout the day. Events will include ranch saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. Whether it be chasing balloons or watching from the stands we guarantee you will find something to entertain every member of your family. So make sure you bring out the entire family for a day of summer fun in Beaver Creek!
