What To Do When You Feel Under the Weather While Traveling

Falling ill while traveling? Here’s a guide on how to handle feeling under the weather on the go, ensuring you get back on track as fast as possible.

There’s nothing quite like the excitement of exploring a new destination. However, if you find yourself feeling unwell during your journey, it can cast a shadow over your adventures. Here’s what to do when you feel under the weather while traveling.

Listen to Your Body

Tune into your body’s signals. Take a break if you feel exhausted, run-down, or just off. Pushing through and sticking to your itinerary might be tempting, but resting can prevent a minor ailment from becoming more serious. Prioritize your well-being above all.

Stay Hydrated and Nourished

Staying hydrated is crucial, especially if you’re battling a fever or upset stomach. Carry a reusable water bottle and drink regularly. Additionally, ensure you’re eating nutrient-rich foods, even in smaller quantities. The right nutrition can speed up recovery and boost your immune system.

Keep Essential Medications on Hand

Always pack a basic medical kit when traveling. It should contain essentials like pain relievers, fever reducers, antacids, and any prescription medications you might need. Having these on hand means you won’t have to scramble to find a pharmacy when you’re not feeling well.

Seek Local Medical Advice

If you’re in a foreign country and your condition isn’t improving, you should seek local medical advice. Hotel staff can often recommend trusted doctors or clinics. In some destinations, there are clinics specifically geared toward travelers. They can handle common travel-related illnesses.

Consider IV Therapy

IV therapy has gained popularity among frequent travelers. It’s a treatment that delivers fluids, vitamins, and sometimes medications directly into the bloodstream. For travelers needing a boost to their immune system, IV therapy offers rapid rehydration and can address symptoms like fatigue, nausea, and headaches. Some clinics even provide services tailored specifically for jet-lagged or dehydrated travelers.

Now that you know what to do when you feel under the weather while traveling, you can prepare for unexpected health hiccups. Remember, while travel is about making memories, your health should always come first. Take these precautions, and you’ll be ready to face and overcome any health challenges that come your way during your journeys.

Especially traveling to colder weather ski destinations, like the Ritz Carlton Club in Vail, CO, with the changing of temperature and altitude, climate and environmental factors can impact your body.

Tips for a Safe Off-Roading Adventure in the Snow

If you’re considering taking a trip to the Aspen Highlands Mountain and want to have fun this winter in your Jeep, you must follow certain guidelines. Heavy snowfall in these mountains may seem like a fun time, but if certain precautions aren’t met, they can take a turn for the worse. Explore a few of these tips for a safe off-roading adventure in the snow.

Snow Activities in Aspen Colorado

The thrill of embarking on an off-roading adventure in snowy terrain is indescribable. As your vehicle crunches over the fresh white powder and the winter sun glistens off the icy terrain, you feel an exhilarating sense of freedom. Yet, such beauty comes with its own set of challenges.

Navigating a vehicle over snowy landscapes requires an understanding of the environment to ensure safety. These essential tips for off-roading in snowy conditions will ensure you and your vehicle stay safe during your winter adventure.

Preparation Is Key

The first step in ensuring a successful snow off-roading adventure is thorough preparation. This includes a detailed inspection of your vehicle to ensure it’s in optimal condition. Pay special attention to your tires, which should be suitable for snowy conditions and have adequate tread depth. Also, ensure your heating system and lights function correctly.

Understand the Terrain

Navigating through snowy terrain requires an in-depth understanding of the landscape to stay on a safe path. Much of off roading does occur in the summer months in Aspen, however, not everyone adheres to these rules. Remember, snow can be deceiving, masking potential hazards like deep pits or large rocks. Always drive slowly and carefully. If possible, scout the area on foot before proceeding, especially if you have doubts about safety.

Keep Your Jeep Optimized and Ready

Keeping your Jeep optimized and ready with the necessary checks, tools, and supplies is crucial. Going on an off-roading adventure requires optimal performance, and following some easy Jeep repairs you can do yourself will help you achieve this. Also, keep items like a shovel to dig out of snow, a tow strap for emergency pulls, and a tire pressure gauge always inside your vehicle.

Use Low Gears and Maintain Momentum

Driving in snow demands careful handling, knowledge, and understanding of how to drive a Jeep. Use low gears to increase traction and avoid jerky movements that could lead to skidding. Also, maintain a steady momentum, especially when you’re moving uphill, to prevent getting stuck or sliding backward, which could be very dangerous.

Never Venture Alone

To safely off-road in the snow, you should always bring company with you because snowy conditions could be more challenging. Always have at least one other vehicle in your group and use radios to keep close communication and monitor each other. In case of an emergency, you can rely on each other.

Off-roading in the snow provides an exciting challenge. However, you must approach it with the right preparation, equipment, and mindset. Follow these tips and get ready for a memorable winter off-roading experience.

If you’re staying at the Ritz Carlton Club in Aspen, there are several nearby trails to go off-roading including:

1. Montezuma Basin at Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness (9.4 miles long)

2. Taylor Lake OHV Trail via Aspen Mountain at White River National Forest (36.1 miles long)

3. Taylor Pass at White River National Forest (14.5 miles long)

Your trip to a faraway place is an exciting adventure, but it’s important to understand the value of planning and sticking to a schedule before you go.

Planning a schedule for your vacation makes all the difference in ensuring you have an unparalleled experience, whether you seek relaxation, adventure, or a mix of both. Schedules are your friend when you travel, and learning their importance provides numerous benefits. Read on to learn about the importance of a schedule during a trip and maximize your enjoyment of your luxurious travels.

A Well-Crafted Schedule Equals a Hassle-Free Experience

The last thing you want is to worry about the logistics of your vacation when you’re leaving behind your busy life to embark on a much-needed escape. Although spontaneity is exciting, a well-planned schedule minimizes unexpected issues and helps you make the most of your time away.

If you’re going to be staying in a populated area such as San Francisco it can’t hurt to start planning on the best time to rent a luxury car. This will ensure yourself to have time to change the rental agreement to increase your options. Having a schedule ensures you book your experiences and activities ahead of time, ensuring you secure spots at the most exclusive events and sought-after restaurants. You eliminate the stress of figuring out details on the go and can focus on enjoying an unforgettable venture by planning.

Maximize Your Time, Maximize Your Investment

A luxury vacation is no small investment. The US Virgin Islands, Lake Tahoe and the Aspen Highlands are great spots to enjoy yourself, but only if you optimize your stay efficiently. This is why schedules during a trip are important so you ensure your vacation is worth every penny. Plan an itinerary to prioritize the experiences that matter most to you, ensuring you won’t regret missing out on anything. A structured itinerary doesn’t mean rigidity. Incorporating flexibility within your schedule helps you to adjust your plans as needed, ensuring your trip remains enjoyable even when circumstances beyond your control call for changes.

Your Schedule, Your Memories

Having the foresight to plan how to document these memories ensures you cherish them. A beautiful collection of photographs, mementos, or even a detailed travel journal helps you revisit your luxurious vacation long after you’ve returned home.

What To Consider When Selecting an Anniversary Destination

Are you planning a romantic getaway for your anniversary and trying to decide where to go? Here's what to consider when selecting an anniversary destination.

Choosing the perfect anniversary destination is an opportunity to celebrate your marital journey, create more beautiful memories, and deepen your bond. Whether it's a tranquil beach escape, a cultural city break, or an adventurous trek through the great outdoors, the choice of destination requires thoughtful consideration to ensure it resonates with both partners. We will discuss what to consider when selecting an anniversary destination to ensure you make the most of this milestone together.

Your Personal Preferences

When selecting your anniversary destination, your and your partner's personal preferences should be the first and foremost consideration. This celebration is about both of you, so choosing a location that embodies your shared interests and desires is one of the best tips for planning a unique wedding anniversary. For instance, if you and your partner enjoy basking in the sun, feeling the sand beneath your toes, and listening to the rhythmic lullaby of the waves, a tropical destination would be an ideal choice. This could be an opportunity to check out places in the Virgin Islands or other tropical destinations. Conversely, a charming ski village may be more suitable if you both find joy in the serene beauty of a snowy landscape, cuddling up by the fire after a day on the slopes. A Colorado getaway could be an ideal location in this case. Always remember, the destination is as special as the people celebrating.

The Available Amenities

The amenities at your chosen destination are just as crucial as your personal preferences. The presence of suitable accommodation, accessible transportation, diverse dining options, and entertaining activities significantly contribute to the success of your anniversary celebration. For instance, check the area's availability and quality of hotels or resorts. To check availability at the Ritz Carlton Club in St. Thomas, contact us here. Comfortable and luxurious lodging will enhance your relaxation and create a memorable experience. Additionally, consider the transportation system. Is it reliable? Can it conveniently take you to your desired locations? Gastronomic offerings are also essential. A destination with diverse restaurants allows you to indulge in local delicacies or enjoy your favorite cuisine. Lastly, remember to research on-site or nearby attractions and activities. These will provide entertainment and opportunities to create cherished memories during your stay. A location with comprehensive amenities will ensure you have everything you need for a special and unforgettable anniversary celebration.

Your Overall Budget

Your overall budget is another primary factor to consider when choosing an anniversary destination. Financial planning is integral to ensuring a stress-free and enjoyable getaway. Your budget must account for the cost of travel, accommodation, dining, and activities. Selecting a destination that offers you a delightful experience without causing financial strain is imperative. Remember, an extravagant vacation locale doesn't necessarily equate to a better celebration. The essence of the occasion lies in your companionship and shared experiences. With thoughtful planning and research, you can find destinations that fit your budget yet offer an array of amenities and experiences that cater to your tastes. This way, you can focus on celebrating your milestone in the most romantic way without worrying about breaking the bank.

Now that you know the things to consider when planning an anniversary trip, you can begin the process today. Ultimately, the perfect anniversary getaway is one that allows you both to celebrate your years of love and companionship in a setting that speaks to your shared experiences and interests.

Kid-Friendly Activities

One of the most important factors to consider when searching for a family-friendly resort is the availability of kid-friendly activities. Look for resorts that offer a variety of recreational options to keep children entertained for hours.

For example, paddle boarding is great for kids because it keeps them active and engaged. Other kid-friendly activities might include swimming, mini-golf, playgrounds, etc. Resorts offering activities and equipment rentals will undoubtedly keep kids and parents happy during their vacations.

When traveling with little ones, finding a resort that caters to everyone’s dietary needs and preferences is essential. Offerings such as allergen-free dishes or customizable meals will be a major plus for families with dietary restrictions.

Spacious and Comfortable Accommodations

After a long day of exploring and fun activities, your family will need a comfortable space to unwind and recharge. Choose a resort with various room configurations, including family suites or connecting rooms, to ensure that everyone has enough space and privacy. Our personal recommendation for space and luxury is the highly sought-after Ritz Carlton and Timbers Residence Clubs – guaranteed to have all your needs in one!

Safety and Accessibility

When traveling with young children, safety and accessibility are key factors to consider. Additionally, ensure that the resort is easily accessible for strollers and wheelchairs if needed.

Special Events and Entertainment

Families that enjoy attending special events and entertainment during their vacations should keep an eye out for resorts that regularly host family-focused activities, such as movie nights, themed dinners, or magic shows. These events create lasting memories for your family and provide a chance to bond as you share new experiences together.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to finding the perfect family-friendly resort, as every family is unique and has its own preferences and expectations. By using your checklist for choosing a luxury family-friendly resort, you’ll be well on your way to planning a memorable vacation that offers something for everyone. Happy travels!

The Winter X Games is back at Colorado's Buttermilk Mountain! Expect an amazing lineup of snowboarding, skiing, bike cross, music, and food. This year marks the 16th consecutive year that the event is being held and what the organizers have in store will surely not disappoint.

New to this event? Then make sure that you attend the practice sessions as some of the best skiing happens here. The competitions will be held at SuperPipe and will begin around 11 am every morning. Men’s and Women’s competitions take place throughout the day. I recommend checking the sporting events schedule here to ensure that you don’t miss a thing!

After a full day of watching and cheering you will want to find a cozy retreat to refuel and recharge. Aspen is full of great eats and you will definitely find an eatery that hits the spot. If you can't wait to eat until you get back to your lodgings you will find plenty of options to choose from near Buttermilk Mountain. We suggest Bumps (famous for their Mediterranean-Inspired Made-to-Order Pastas & Salads) at the base of Buttermilk Mountain where Sugarpipe is in full view.

If transportation is on your mind. No need to worry! The town of Aspen has organized free buses to and from Buttermilk Mountain. We suggest taking this route as parking will be hard to find. If you would rather drive parking will be located at the Brush Creek Intercept Lot at Hwy 82 and Brush Creek Rd.

If music is more up your alley then you are in luck. The following artists are part of the lineup this year.
