St. Thomas Coral World
If you're staying at the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas Residence Club, you must go to Coral World! Coral World is located at Coki Beach and is a great way to experience St. Thomas's abundant marine life with your group.
They have an Undersea Observatory about 100 feet offshore that goes down 15 feet below sea level. The Undersea Observatory is an underwater glass tower that allows you to keep dry while observing marine life. You can watch fish in their natural habitat, swimming around their coral ecosystem. The twice daily feedings attract large amounts of fish for observation.
There is a Reef Tank in the mid level of the Undersea Observatory that contains schooling fish, sharks, tarpoons, and large fish from deeper waters.
Head to the top of the tower to get a great view of St. Thomas and to make reservations for activities. Coral World's Sea Lion Encounters and Sea Lion Swim let guests get up close and personal with these amazing creatures. The Sea Treck takes guests deep down for a walk along the ocean floor.
Coral World is involved with several education and conservation programs, including shark research, sea turtle rehabilitation, and coral restoration.

Magens Bay St. Thomas
Magens Bay is one of St. Thomas's most beautiful and popular beaches. It has been recognized by National Geographic as one of the world's top 10 most beautiful beaches, thanks to its calm turquoise waters and white sand shores.
The gradually deepening water at Magens Bay combined with its lack of waves and currents makes it the ideal beach for children. Adults can take noodles or floating devices out on the water with one of the beach bar's amazing bushwackers. Magens Bay is not known for its snorkeling, but is a great place to just relax and soak up the sun.
The water sports booth offers paddle boats, kayaks, and sunfish. The concession features a bar and restaurant that serves burgers, pizza and snacks. There is also a gift shop and hair braiding stand.
Magens Bay is located to the northwest of the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas Resort and Residence Club at Red Hook.

Chef Charlie has created an eclectic New American menu with French, Mediterranean, and Pacific Rim influences. His cooking is nothing if not creative – the items on the menu are unlike anything you will find at any other Lake Tahoe restaurant. Recommended dishes include the rack of Australian lamb with roasted garlic and pesto butter; filet mignon with shiitake, gorgonzola, brandy and burgundy butter; the innovative take on escargot with shiitake mushrooms, rosemary burgundy and garlic butter, served in a pastry shell; and champagne poached scallops with kiwi and mango cream sauce. It’s easy to see why Chef Charlie’s exotic take on regional Lake Tahoe cuisine has been voted Best Place to Take A Date for the past 15 years in a row.
La Fondue
La Fondue is the only fondue restaurant in Lake Tahoe. Groups or couples can come here and have a great time socializing and cooking together. La Fondue offers hot oil, cheese, chocolate, and ice cream fondue. Cook your meat or seafood (filet mignon, lamb, prawns, scallops, chicken, turkey, meatballs, schnitzel) in a variety of hot oils, or try their traditional Swiss cheese fondue. Chocolate is served with fresh fruit and marshmallows, and every meal comes with delicious bacon wrapped dates. The ice cream fondue with vanilla ice cream and dipping sauces is flamed tableside. Seasonal outdoor seating is available.
Cottonwood Restaurant & Bar
Cottonwood Restaurant & Bar offers comfortable fine dining and locally farmed and raised produce and meat. Local's favorites include the Niman Ranch New York Steak, Pine Nut Crusted Southeast Asian Basa, and Butternut Squash Enchiladas. Guests of the Ritz Carlton St. Thomas Residence Club have membership access to the Mahogany Run Golf Course, designed by George and Tom Fazio.
Building the Mahogany Run Golf Course was an amazing engineering and architectural feet due to the rocky terrain. When it was finished in 1980, it quickly became a favorite of celebrities, pro golfers, and Golf Digest. The 14th hole of the course is located on a cliff, 200 feet above sea level, and has an amazing view of the surrounding islands.
The tropical flora and fauna of the course add to its charm. You will find papaya and mango trees, iguana, mongoose, parrots, and you might even be able to see the migrating hump-backed whales from the 14th hole.
There are 2 on-site restaurants, the Mahogany Run Grill Room and Coconuts. The Grill Room has been renovated and is now an elegant and modern restaurant that serves a modern fusion of Latin, Asian, and French cuisine with some American and Caribbean influence. Read our review of the Grill Room.

NEW Vail CineBistro: Restaurant Movie Theater
Cinebistro is a chain of retsaurants that also show movies. Their new Vail location opened this summer and is a great way to spend the evening. Now you don't have to go to dinner and then to the movies - you can have a full service dinner (with plenty of great options on the menu) and watch a movie at the same time!
Cinebistro is primarily a restaurant lounge that accommodates dinner guests and moviegoers. You are not obligated to watch a movie and eat dinner, you can choose between the two. If you arrive half an hour before your movie starts, a concierge will meet you at the door and give you a tour of the venue. If you have not purchased your tickets online prior to arrival, the concierge can help your purchase your tickets and choose your seats.
Meals are served all at once at the beginning (appetizers and entrees) so as not to interrupt the movie. If you were not able to order before the movie began, you can go to the snack counter and order from there. A pager will be given to you, and once it buzzes, you can return to the snack counter to pick up your food. Specialty cocktails and a children's menu are also available.
Cinebistro has a great menu that includes appetizers such as "popcorn" (rock shrimp, calamari, or chicken served in a popcorn container), flatbread and hummus. Entrees include Colorado lamb, gourmet pasta, beef dishes, salmon, chicken pot pie, salads and sandwiches.

Maroon Bells: Colorado's Most Photographed Mountains
The twin peaks of the Maroon Bells are claimed to be the most photographed mountains in Colorado. The South Maroon Peak and the North Maroon Peak are separated by a third of a mile and are located in the Elk Mountains. The Maroon Bells are about 12 miles southwest of Aspen, bordering Pitkin County and Gunnison County.
South Maroon Peak is the 27th highest peak in Colorado, and North Maroon Peak is the 50th. Both reach over 14,000 feet tall. The distinct maroon color of the mountains is due to their composition of metamorphic sedimentary mudstone that hardened over millions of years. Most mountains are made of granite and limestone, and this mudstone is soft in comparison and crumbles easily. The Maroon Bells can be dangerous as a result, and are prone to loose and falling rocks at any given time.
The Maroon Lake is a beautiful lake surrounded by a field of wildflowers that mirrors the images of the peaks. This picturesque lake was formed by glaciers during the Ice Age and then dammed by landslide and rock debris.
You can safely tour the Maroon Bells during the spring and summer. The Maroon Bells Stables offers horseback riding tours and are now accepting early reservations for Memorial Day excursions.
For more adventurous and skilled skiers, ski mounaineering is a popular activity on the Maroon Bells. This involves hiking up the mountain with skiis on your back and then skiing back down the mountain.
For those of you staying at the Ritz Carlton Aspen Highlands Residence Club this spring, we recommend touring the Maroon Bells and Maroon Lake!
